I came home from my weekend at work to find 91 extra Star Wars figures and 4 spaceships on the living room floor. I soon found out that they were all of Joel’s (Thanks Katie & Bill for hanging onto all of these) that he had stored out in the garage! Both Charlie and Claire still have not stopped playing with them. They are so cute with all of the characters. Charlie likes to play “Luke”. Claire plays “Princess Leah”. Will is either R2D2 or Yoda. Joel is Anakin (sp)—The Master. So, I asked Charlie who I should be. He looked at me with the sweetest face and said “Mom, you don’t have to be any of them because I know this stuff is too scary for you!” Too cute! And yes, I am a little apprehensive about the light sabers, the 3 eyed guys and the guy without a head (what!?)
Nonetheless, I love to watch the kids play so intently while their imagination is just soaring! Joel takes credit for all the fun pictures! (I think he took the ones of them cleaning the toys just to prove to me that everything was washed after all the years of storage!) The absolute most precious thing, is to see Joel’s face as he watches his kids play with the same toys he spent hours upon hours playing with himself years ago. It amazes me that he can recall the name of each and every guy and ship! I watch as Joel so patiently teaches Claire & Charlie all the names of the guys and whether or not they are “good” or “bad” and what each of their story is about. How precious. Enjoy!
